Happy Birthday Yuh!

Prologue: 

Yuh will have his birthday. But, remembering what has happen on Umi's birthday, Yuh has made himself firm that for his birthday he doesn't want anything. Will the other member follow his birthday wish or keep preparing a special surprise with their own way?

“Umi, what do you think we should give Yuh for his birthday?” ask Tomo.

“A cake?” ask Tohya with happy eyes.

“I think it’s not a good idea. It might turn out to be a mess, and I then would be the one who have to make the cake, alone,” Umi asserts with the last words.

“No, we’ll make it together. Just like what you guys did for Tohya and mine birthday,” remind Tomo. Umi stills for a moment.

“Still, I’m the one who made the mix,”

“But, it will be fun, Umi,” said Tohya with a cute and low tone. Umi recognizes the tone. And he knows what will happen next.

“Yeah, it will be fun, Umi,” follows Tomo making a puppy eyes.

“Also it’s for Yuh, we won’t let him have a usual birthday, right?”

“Usual sometimes can be nice,” said Umi. He already imagines there won’t be anything usual if the two have work on something. Finally Umi takes a sigh. He gives up, not because of the puppy eyes, but more because the two won’t ever quit bugging him until they get what they want.

“Alright, let’s make a cake for Yuh. Where is he anyway?”

“He’s going to the supermarket with Rui. They’re buying snacks,” told Tohya. Umi grins. He knows for whom the snacks.

“Okay, let’s go to buy the ingredients,” Umi takes his jacket.

“Yosh!! Let’s go!!” shout Tohya and Tomo excited. Umi laugh away.

…

“Yuh, what do you want for your birthday?” ask Rui as he takes a fruit can from the shelf.

“Nothing,” answer Yuh shortly. His eyes are also looking at some stuff on the shelf.

“I don’t want my birthday to become like Umi’s,” giggles Yuh. Rui also smile. He puts the can on the basket.

“This time will be different. We’re asking what do you want and not preparing some surprise party,”

“Mmm,” Yuh’s thinking. “A new guitar will be so nice,” Rui takes another can and squeeze it so tightly.

“You really want it?” ask him with a vicious smile. Yuh grins.

“No, I’m just joking. Sometimes you can be so scary,” Yuh walks to another shelf. Rui follows him after putting back the can.

“Seriously Yuh, what do you want for your birthday? A treat?” suggest Rui. Yuh shakes his head.

“I told you that I don’t want anything,”

“I remember what Umi has said. He said that being with all of us it’s enough. It’s the same feeling with me. It’s enough just to be with you guys,” Yuh smiles.

“But, Yuh…” Yuh raises his hand to stop Rui from keep talking.

“I’ve told you, I don’t want anything. End of discussion. And you’d better not prepare any surprise party for me. I will keep myself aware,” told Yuh. Rui takes a sigh.

“I‘m going to say that I do expected something for my birthday,” Rui walks away to the grocery section and left Yuh who smiles slightly.

“We shouldn’t have gone to the same store with them,” whisper Umi while squat at the corner of the supermarket. Tohya and Tomo are also squatting with him. People are looking at them suspiciously, especially to Umi, since he’s looking serious and scary, while the other two were looking cute.

“But I want to make sure Rui bought the right one,” said Tohya. Umi holds his head. He scolds himself for following Tohya’s will.

“But, it’s good thing, right? At least we know Yuh doesn’t want anything for his birthday,” add Tomo.

“And what’s good about that? Aren’t we here to prepare something for him?” ask Umi.

“But, he doesn’t want anything,” said Tohya.

“I know that. I heard what he said,” said Umi with a high voice. He takes a deep breath.

“Okay, Yuh said he doesn’t want anything for his birthday. So, are we still going to prepare something for him or not?” ask Umi. He hopes his explanation can be understood by Tomo and Tohya.

“Of course we’re still going to prepare it! Even though he said he doesn’t want anything, but we will still give him something,” said Tomo firmly.  

“Okay, that’s been decide. And so, what will we give?” ask Umi.

“A cake?” suggest Tohya. Umi starts to think that Tohya only want the cake for himself. Umi ignores him and looking around the store. His eyes stop at some stuff near the front cashier. Umi slowly rises to see where Yuh and Rui are at the moment. Tohya and Tomo watch Umi’s doing with confused look.

“I think I know what we will give Yuh, but under one condition,” said Umi.

“We promise we won’t mess up!” said Tomo quickly. Tohya also quickly crossing his fingers, as a sign that he swears he won’t mess anything. Umi stills.

“Actually that’s not what’s on my mind, but okay that will also include,” Umi slowly rises.

“Let’s go. And keep yourself low,” whisper Umi as he slowly walks away. Tohya and Tomo follow him. They walk slowly and keep bending their body that make people become more suspicious with their act.

…

“Whoa~~~ I’m full!” said Yuh tapping his stomach.

“Me too, can’t have more,” said Tohya. Rui smiles at them. Tomo is calmly finishing his drinks. While Umi is looking busy with his cell phone. He’s being like that since leaving the supermarket. Even Tohya and Tomo don’t know what he’s doing. Umi doesn’t explain the details of Yuh’s birthday surprise to them. Umi only told them to ask Yuh for a dinner and then walk to the park. Suddenly Umi stands and walk outside the stall.

“I’ll be going first, you all just go home. I’ve paid for everything,” told Umi and without waiting for the other’s reaction, he quickly left.

“Umi seems busy,” mumble Rui.

“Maybe he’s making schedule for the next show,” told Yuh.

“What? He’s making schedule? But, I thought he’s making a surprise plan for…”

“Ah! Let’s get home! Okay? Let’s get home! Let’s! Let’s! Let’s!” said Tomo and drag Tohya away.

“Do you guys prepare something for my birthday?” ask Yuh. Rui shakes.

“I know nothing. They don’t tell me about it,” answer Rui. Yuh looks at him and believe Rui really don’t know anything.

“Yuh, Rui, what kept you, guys? Let’s go to the park!” told Tomo with his head struck out from the door.

“Going to the park? Didn’t he say to go home?” ask Yuh. Rui shakes his head again.

“Okay, I wonder what they will have for me,” said Yuh and stands from his seat. Rui follows him and both of them get outside the stall.

The four of them are walking to the park. All the way, they were talking, joking, and fooling each other. Until they finally arrive at the park and sits together at one bench.

“Okay, now tell me what will happen?” ask Yuh.

“What do you prepare for my birthday? It will be my birthday in couple of minutes,” said Yuh. Tomo and Tohya are looking at each other.

“Is Umi preparing something?” ask Rui. Tohya and Tomo shake their head.

“We don’t know. He only told me to ask Yuh out for a dinner then do a walk to the park. We don’t know what would happen next,” said Tohya. Tomo looking around expecting to see something as a sign for Yuh’s birthday surprise. He doesn’t see anything.

“Tomo, is Umi really preparing something for Yuh or is he making schedule for the live?” ask Tohya. Tomo shakes his head.

“I don’t know either,”

“Well, maybe there won’t be any surprise after all. Even so, thanks for the treat and the walk. We haven’t been doing it lately,” said Yuh.

“Yes, we haven’t, right?” agree Rui.

“We’ve been busy with lives, interviews, photo’s sections,”

“Yeah, but it feels great, right? It feels great to be back,” smile Yuh. Rui smiles and nod his head.

“I won’t ask for anything else. I only ask for us to be always together like this, to always be with you all, and to have a shining future with you all,” Yuh looks at the clear and dark sky. Suddenly a noise come and a small thing fly straight up the sky and blows out with a beautiful colors. Another one come, and another one, and another one, all blows out with beautiful colors at the night sky.

“Fireworks, wonder who has set it?” ask Yuh.

“Luckily the sky is clear tonight, so it works perfectly,” said Umi suddenly from behind. All four of them turn back in surprised.

“Umi, do you prepare this?” ask Yuh. Umi smiles and raise a can of beer at his right hand.

“Happy birthday, Yuh,” said him. Yuh stills. Umi gives Rui a plastic bag fill with beer cans. Rui gives Tomo and Tohya each a can. He also gives one to Yuh who still looking surprised.

“It will work under one condition, it won’t be raining. And also thanks for sticking to the plan,” Umi looks at Tomo and Tohya who are smiling.

You don’t expect it, right?” ask Umi to Yuh.

“No, absolutely not…I mean…Is this what you’ve been working by the phone?” ask Yuh. Umi nods and drinks his beer.

“We don’t expect it either. Umi, you’re a genius!” said Tohya.

“Great job, Umi!” add Tomo.

“I just want to make something that we can enjoy together. It’s really been a while. Also, it’s the time,” Umi raises his can again. This time Rui, Tohya, and Tomo are doing the same. They have opened it first. Yuh looking at them, still stun. The fireworks show is still going on.

“Happy birthday, Yuh. We’re wishing you a long, great, happy, and successful life. Also, will be more counting on you from now on. Cheers!” said Umi.

“Cheers!” said Rui, Tohya, and Tomo in the same time. They bump their cans. Umi stretches out his can to Yuh. Yuh keeps still. Slowly he smiles and opens the can he’s holding.

“Thank you, guys. Thank you so much,” Yuh bumps his can to Umi’s. Umi smiles and the other also quickly bump theirs can to Yuh’s.

“Happy birthday, Yuh!” said all of them together.

“Ah…I can’t wait for my birthday. Wonder what would you guys prepare for me,” said Rui in the sudden.

“Well, since you ask it, let me tell you. We won’t prepare anything,” laugh Umi.

“Yeah, we won’t. Rui doesn’t help anything for Yuh’s birthday,” said Tohya.

“Hey, I would if you ask me!” objected Rui. They all laugh.

“There are still many times, Rui. Just be patience,” said Yuh.

“Oh, you’d better not guess anything since we might come out with something unexpectedly,” add him.

“Yeah, like we’ll forget it or something,” mumble Umi.

“What? Said it again!” urged Rui. They are all laughing again. Yuh drinks his beer and look at the fireworks.  

“This is the best birthday I’ve ever had,” smile him.
